Meet Collin

age 21 | Childhood cancer survivor (Testicular cancer)

Submitted by mom, Rebecca:

My son was diagnosed at age 17 with testicular cancer. The tumor was a mixed cell tumor which meant that some of it was cancerous and some were not. The cancerous part responded well to chemo. Unfortunately, not all of the tumor was removed so the noncancerous part continued to grow. It was on his superior vena cava and needed to be removed. It involved a very difficult surgery with a very painful recovery. It was successful and he is cancer-free. He is now a junior at Virginia Tech and is on the Executive Committee of their Relay For Life. He is finding ways to raise awareness of childhood cancer.
