age 33 | 23-year Childhood cancer (AML) survivor
Submitted by mom, Cathy:
Our youngest son, Adam, was diagnosed with AML at age 10. He went into remission after 2 intensive rounds of chemo. His older brother, Chris, was a perfect donor match. After total body radiation 2 x day for 4 days and one day of very intensive chemo he received his brother’s bone marrow. On September 1st, we will celebrate 23 years cancer-free!

Hi my name is Adam, I will be celebrating my 23rd second birthday tomorrow on September 1st. I was diagnosed with AML when I was 10 years old. I was very fortunate and blessed to have a big brother aka my hero to be a perfect match for my Bone Marrow Transplant. I am lighting up not for me but for all those kids fighting their battles against cancer to this day. To those fighting you are my heroes and I stand in your corner as you battle the nasty “C” word. Stay strong and keep fighting!
